FFLIC launched Black Man Rising, a group of young men ages 13-24, to provide holistic peer mentorship to young people in the juvenile justice system. Black Man Rising (BMR) now operates multiple programs in schools and youth prisons and is beginning to organize against the systems pushing young people into the system, like school pushout. Black Man Rising is working to keep young men out of the system and training the next generation of young people to fight mass incarceration.
