Join Us! JJRAIC Meeting and Youth Justice Rally!

Join us for the upcoming Juvenile Justice Reform Act Implementation Commission (JJRAIC) meeting on October 28, 2024 from 10:00 a.m to 12:00 p.m. with a Youth Justice Action Month rally to follow the meeting at noon. The JJRAIC meeting will be held in the Governor’s Press Room on the 4th floor of the State Capitol Building (900 N 3rd St, Baton Rouge, Louisiana) and the rally will be on the Capitol steps.
The JJRAIC, created by Act 1225 of 2003, is responsible for overseeing the transformation of the youth justice system into a holistic model of support and coordinated care. It is key to our vision of youth justice!
In order to move away from systems that we know don’t work and towards an evidence-based blueprint for safer communities, we have to lift up our voices at this meeting and rally for Youth Justice Action Month #YJAM!
Youth Justice Action Month (YJAM) is an annual month-long campaign where advocates come together to organize digital and in-person events and activities to raise awareness and inspire action on behalf of young people impacted by the justice system.
The JJRAIC Meeting and youth-led rally will amplify the voices of parents and youth impacted by the system.
